I find myself often leaving other classes with a full brain and the hope of reviewing my notes and actually utilizing what was taught in the future. To the contrary, the information I learned in my first Ayurvedic class has become a part of my life. Dian shares the principles of this ancient wisdom in a grounded-in-the-everyday-way that seems simple; guides you in how to apply it to your life in a way that feels easy and fun; and through her gentle teaching style, humbly or somehow imparts the knowledge into the fabric of how you see the world, yourself, and your loved ones.  Dian brings the ancient teachings of Aurveda to the heartland...and to the heart.

I left my first Ayurvedic consultation with life long tools for self-healing and self-regulation.  I now understand that the state of my health is not about defining the problems and searching for the solution, but rather understanding the myriad of internal and environmental influences and how to strengthen my particular constitution. Having learned that my primary constitution type is Vata (air/wind and ether), it makes sense that if I schedule too many swift fast-paced activities or don't nourish myself with adequate substance, that I will become ungrounded and airy. Even the turning of the seasons or a particularly windy day could be enough to tip me over the edge into imbalance or weakened immunity (especially if I am already leaning that way)  But by paying attention to the subtle clues, I have an array of deliciously luxurious options to nudge my body-mind back towards strength and harmony...add some Vata appeasing spice to my meals or essential oils to a self massage blend, remember to keep my feet warm, carve out some space for more stillness...its amazing how indulging in these sweet and easy Ayurvedic "treats" can optimize health and wholeness!

The Primordial Sound meditation class was one of the best things I have ever done for myself.  Dian's kind and gentle spirit allowed me to be open to the experience. You can tell that she is invested in your personal growth.

I enjoy the feeling of peace Dian generates in the room. The movements she teaches and guides us into make my body feel relaxed and younger. From the yoga, I get relaxation that lasts well beyond the class time. A happy feeling of appreciation for my body and all it can do helps me completely forgive its shortcomings and be glad to be alive. I also get a renewed feeling of connections with the earth. Dian’s voice and total acceptance of and appreciation for her students makes one want to be there. She brings her talents in making children feel capable and loved to her adult yoga students.

When I participate in Dian’s yoga classes, I find a connection to my body and a feeling of being unencumbered. The class is a stimulating, but gentle approach to releasing tension throughout the body. I keep coming to this class because of the benefits I receive from limbering tight muscles and connecting mind, body and heart for a more youthful feeling. Anyone can participate in Dian’s class, and the only expectation that she has is that you are comfortable with where you are. The class gives me joy and helps to re-center me for the rest of the day.

Dian’s class was the first yoga class I had attended in years, so I was a little apprehensive, and I didn’t know what to expect. If I had gone the first time and felt awkward or uncomfortable, I would not have returned. I needn’t have worried.

Dian is there as a guide, and she does this so well.  Her voice is reassuring and comforting, and she always offers variations of poses; or suggests that we ask our body if this is right for us today. Questions we, in our busy lives forget to stop and ask ourselves. For me, this translates to a much better quality of life. It prompts me to ask the same questions of myself during other practices. This equates to an improvement in life quality!

I feel relaxed, yet energized, after the class, ready for the rest of the day. My joints feel like they have renewed strength and flexibility, and although I am still a little uneven I can tell without a doubt that I have improved. That’s very encouraging. All in all, a feeling of wellbeing, and I am another step closer to a stronger and more limber body.

The ease in which I became a part of this group of like-minded people was also reassuring. I am welcomed! I feel relaxed, yet energized when I have finished the class; ready for the rest of the day.

It was a fateful occurrence coming across Dian and her class. I am so glad I followed my instinct to inquire with her. I look forward to the class every Monday morning.
