Journey Back to Balance provides a unique approach to health based on the powerful principles of Ayurveda, India’s 5,000-year-old healing system. Ayurveda focuses on the whole person – the mind, body, and spirit – seeking to correct the imbalances that cause distress and, ultimately, disease.
In this workshop, you will identify your body-mind constitution and learn the fundamental principles of Ayurveda. You will determine optimal nutrition that supports your unique body-mind type, develop daily purifying routines, and discover how to awaken your inner pharmacy through your senses.
You will also acquire practical tools that create physical and emotional balance, including mindfulness meditation, yoga, breathing practices, mantras, and emotional release techniques.
All of these tools will be with you for the rest of your life!
With the self-awareness you gain you will be able to refine your lifestyle to keep your unique body-mind in balance, recognize developing imbalances, and prevent illnesses before they manifest as physical symptoms. You will have resources to refer to and practices that can be immediately woven into your daily life as you gain a better understanding of yourself in your Journey Back to Balance.

WHAT IS THE COURSE LIKE?
JOURNEY BACK TO BALANCE is presented during five classes and one private session. The class includes a wealth of information for someone new to this healing system as well as for those who have dabbled in analyzing his or her body-mind type. The course can be taught in a weekend, however, I highly recommend taking it over a period of five weeks to allow your mind (and body) to process and experience each topic fully.
You may also attend each session separately after consulting with me on your current needs and knowledge of Ayurveda..
Session One: This session provides the context for the wisdom found in Ayurveda.
Learn the origin and basic principles supporting Ayurveda, meditation, and yoga
The balanced and imbalanced qualities of the three primary body-mind personalities: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha
Identify your unique body-mind constitution
Determine the current state of your body-mind balance
Session Two: Food As Medicine
Experience the Six Tastes described in Ayurveda and learn how to balance your dosha with food
Learn nutritional practices to help you maintain vibrant health, appropriate weight, and optimize your digestion.
Session Three: Rhythms of Nature
Discover how to perpetually renew yourself on a daily basis by eliminating toxins through simple rejuvenating techniques
Learn how to flow with (rather than against) the rhythmic cycles of the earth, which helps you prevent illness and eliminate stress
Find out what exercise supports your constitution, your dosha, or current body-mind state
Session Four: Emotional Wellbeing
Explore tools to practice conscious communication that will enhance your relationship with others and help you achieve emotional freedom
Increase your awareness of the responsive reactions of yourself and others as you explore the Seven Stages of Biological Response
Session Five: Nature’s Pharmacy
Learn to use your senses – visual, sound, smell, taste, touch – to access the power of your body’s inner pharmacy to heal, nourish, and maintain balance
Private 45-Minute Consultation: To be scheduled with me after Session One. Together we will create an action plan that is relevant for your lifestyle and for your particular body-mind type.
